-Fire Nation-
Mai sighed as she sat in the inner garden. All she wanted was to be happy. Happiness, is that to much to ask? Not even the fact that she was pregnant made her happy. Even her closest friend didn't know she was unhappy. Not even her husband.
"Mai?" she heard him call from the hallway.
"In here" she sighed as she got up and walked to the doorway.
Her husband smiled as he bent to kiss her. She sighed inaudibly as she turned her face so he kissed her cheek. He stood up straight and gave her a confused look.
"You okay?" he whispered as he touched her cheek.
"Just tired. Can I please go take a nap now, Zuko?!" Mai snapped as she slapped his hand away and stormed off.
Zuko stared at her as she stormed away. He winced a little when he heard their bedroom door slam. He knew exactly what to do. He headed for his office.
"Time to write a letter" Zuko mumbled as he sat down at his desk.
-Southern Water Tribe-
"Hey Katara, your brother and Suki want us to come to their tent. They got a letter from Zuko" somebody called as they stuck their head into the tent.
"Hold on Aang, let me finish the dishes. I'm almost done" Katara smiled as she wiped her wet hand across her forehead.
Aang sighed as he sat down in a chair. Katara has been really distracted lately. She has been throwing herself into housework lately, more than usual.
"Ready" Katara smiled as she smoothed her hair back.
"Come on then. Toph is coming tomorrow by the way" Aang smiled as they made their way over to Sokka and Suki's tent.
Katara sighed and rolled her eyes as she fixed her hair. That was when a piece of hair fell in front of her face. It wasn't just any piece of hair. It was a grey piece of hair.
"Ohmygosh! A grey hair?! I'm only nineteen!" Katara cried as she pulled out the strand of hair.
"It'll be fine Katara" Aang sighed as he held the tent flap open for her.
She glared at him as she stormed by him. He sighed again as he followed her inside. That was when they heard it. The tail end of another fight coming from a back room.
"Forget you Sokka! You always blame me! But you know what, maybe its your fault too!" Suki shouted.
"Don't you blame me for your 'problems'!" they heard Sokka yell back.
"Sokka?" Katara called from the middle of the tent.
"Coming! Coming. You can stay or go Suki, I don't really care anymore!" they heard Sokka snap before he appeared.
Katara stared at her older brother with a surprised look that quickly left as Aang came into view. They all were kind of quiet for a few minutes before Suki with a bag packed and a stony expression on her face appeared.
"I'm going to the Fire Nation ahead of you guys" Suki sneered before she walked away.
"What's going on?" Aang asked as he gave Sokka a confused look.
"Nothing. Zuko does want us to come to the Fire Nation though. He says that Mai has been really mean lately, and he wants us to visit because he thinks with us there, she will feel better" Sokka explained as he crumpled up the note and threw it over his shoulder.
"Aang, send Toph's parents a letter telling them to tell her to have her to go to the Fire Nation" Katara sighed as she shook her head.
Aang nodded his head and walked away. Katara sighed as she looked her brother. He smiled as he hugged her.
"Hey Sokka?"
"What?"
"Is Mai having your child? or is she having Zuko's child?" Katara asked as she looked up at him.
"I have no idea. That is why I am furious with Suki right now. Anyways, what about you?"
"What about me?" she asked as she let go and wrapped her arms around herself.
"When are you gonna break up with Aang, and realize that quick fling at the ball meant more than it really did?"
"The same time you realize to break up with Suki and your destiny is with Mai"
They stood in the middle of the tent staring at each other. Having both of their affairs out in the air, it made things seem lighter. But these affairs they could be their downfall. It could be everbody that was involved downfall. Hopefully it won't end up like that.
